Wonder if Bradley is playing well enough of late for someone to want him. He shot 39% from 3 in January. Don’t know but we could most likely get another first rounder for Lou if we wanted to.

I do not believe this deal was done to stand pat and look towards the future unless the future includes AD. If not AD something else has to be in the works however now AD seems like a very real possibility.

The Clippers didn't make the deal specifically to pursue New Orleans All-NBA center Anthony Davis, sources said, but for star players like him who invariably become available in the marketplace. Davis included the Clippers on a list of teams he'd be willing to commit long-term if traded, but Clippers president Lawrence Frank and general manager Michael Winger didn't make the trade with the primary objective to pursue Davis, league sources said. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25935274/clippers-agree-trade-tobias-harris-76ers-deal-involving-6-players

Observations:
-- Tobias' addition to Philly makes them deadly, it's the one element that turns them into a nightmare to defend. Who do you focus on, Embiid? Butler? Simmons? Reddick? Tobias? The whole is much bigger than the sum of the parts here. Much bigger. (Tobias should be thrilled with the trade!)
-- In turn, this makes it much harder for Toronto, and Boston, which hugely benefits us with Kawhi and AD
-- I can't imagine today's trade is an end onto itself, we are making room as well as acquiring very attractive tradeable assets. I imagine we will accumulate yet more assets between now and Thursday, or at least this summer, which will make us at least as competitive, if not more competitive than any other team, including Boston who is loaded with assets.
-- If AD ends up here, it will be in large part because we have tons of assets to interest the Pelicans. If he ends up going elsewhere, we still have room for two max players AND a ton of assets to put together a great team to surround the two max players.

Wow. I like the trade. We’re in obvious tank mode so our draft pick remains ours. 3 first round picks in the next 2 years. 2 second round picks. Cap room. I’m sad to see Bobi and Tobi go though. It just wasn’t made to be. I’ll definitely be rooting for them in Philly. How are the Angels gonna be?

I agree with Cork Screw...the assets are nice BUT the media is missing a significant implication it has on this year’s Eastern conference playoffs. The Sixers now have enough weapons to send Toronto home early which means Kawahi’s chances of walking just increased.

one minute you are sinkin the off-balanced four footer to win the game and discussing w Christina Pink post-game about being unwavered about the recent mini-shooting slump/staying focused/working hard/giving the glory to above and his teammates...and the next you are shipped out to the East to compete for a championship. He along with his best bud Boban will be easy to pull for in the playoffs. They did everything right during their Clipper tenure and hope they succeed. Mike Scott will be missed as well as he was tough, a class act, and hit some big shots. Unlike a lot of ex-Clip spoiled prima donnas who leave disgruntled and crap on the org on their way out, I genuinely wish them nothing but the best in their careers.
But do agree with this trade for sure. With all these superstars recently putting the Clips on their shortlist of preferred destinations, let's get some all-time superstuds. Do it, Jerry.

Something else is gonna happen. We have to many guards now. I do like Muscala and Landry but no room for him.

Jerry West and company dealing the great guy they got in the Blake Griffin trade to an Eastern Conference contender to ensure that the Raptors don't reach the Finals so Kawhi Leonard is even more enticed by the Clippers in the offseason is some elite galaxy brain type thinking.

I like the way Jerry is putting this team together. We're about to embark on possibly the greatest era in Clippers history guys.

BTW, just a side note, but I don't think Shamet can be included in an AD trade before the deadline. He can only be traded by himself.
He can however be included in an AD trade in the off-season.
Also, I knew hardly anything about Shamet before this trade, but dude is 21 years old, shooting 40% from 3 on 245 attempts and has a 7'0" wingspan! Under team control on a cheap contract for 4 more years.
Yes, please. Seems like a great get, the perfect kind of player to have around on the roster when we are going for big fish type of players.
Aside from the Gallo signing..........the West/Winger front office has KILLED IT with pretty much every move they've made. They have been one of the best front offices in the league, doing an outstanding job.

The Blake traded has now given us:
- a max cap space slot in 2019 - SGA - Shamet - 2 future 1st round picks (one unprotected from MIA) - 3 future 2nd round picks - whatever we can get for Avery Bradley

We were not going to keep Harris anyway after he turned down our 4 year 80 million offer last summer. That was a fair offer even if he does get more this summer. Not sure how the Sixers can afford to pay him. Not him and Butler. They may want to keep Harris and part ways with Butler if he is somewhat redundant with Simmons. That is what I am guessing. They gave up too much for a 20 game rental.
Marjanovic is a guy that played well for us when he played. But he only works well against other immobile centers that can't shoot from the perimeter. And there are not that many players left like that in the league. I don't mind losing him but he was great in some of his games here and he won some games for us.
Scott played well in some games for us including last night's game. So he will be missed a little but not that much.
Shamet looks like a promising young guard who can shoot the three. But I hope he does not detract from Jerome Robinson's playing time.
Wilson Chandler is a poor man's Tobias Harris. Not at the same level. Pretty mediocre at every thing and not a power forward. Hope he is not in our long range plans.
Muscala is a mediocre center who may be better than nothing at that position but looks like a poor rebounder and poor shot blocker. And not much of a scorer either. So yes he can give us minutes at that position but he isn't a guy who can go out and win games for you.
Overall I hate the trade as far as I hate giving up on this season. But to be realistic it was great to get assets back for a player that we were going to lose anyway for nothing. This does set us up much better for the future at the expense of the present. But we may have dropped out of the playoff race anyway in the next two weeks so it may not have hurt us much at all and we should get a better draft pick this year for dropping. So good trade for us and Philly. But damn I hate conceding that we will finish behind the Lakers this year.

"As part of the Tobias Harris trade, the Clippers created a $9.8 million trade exception. The exception is good for one year but will be lost if they elect to use cap space this summer."
