Since Clippers won last game thought I'd do another game thread kinda like the douchey "broadcaster jinx" where they believe they control free throw outcomes. No offense to Brian Sieman who regularly implores this. Or Jim Jackson/The Czar who humour him with it.
Opened Dallas -1 so betters are thinking the Mavs. Close one last time at Crypto in Game 2 and hopefully being 9pm Dallas time can possibly factor in Mavs late night fatigue. Both teams fairly healthy with Dallas having Hardaway GTD and of course a hobbled Kawhi out. Obvs a very big game as the winner is in a strong position to close the series. Lez go, Clips!

I like your definitional equation: "Kawhi out; team fairly healthy." Please, Steve, make that permanent.

Could be a trick but probably not (and Mavs fans called Kawhi injury a trick before they found out that was real):
I had not heard "sick." I had heard "hurt his knee" but not "sick."

And yet the line has increased from Mavs -2.5 to Mavs -3.5

WHAT??? Luka playing hurt? Like Embiid? Thank God we don't have players risking their health doing that.

I don't think it's a trick, but it's a way of getting a bit of pressure off for sub par play. To be fair, Luka has proven himself pretty well in being able to produce at a high level in the postseason. He looks a touch slower to me than usual so I think there might be some validity to him not playing at 100%

let's just hope Clipper players don't awaken the beast with illness taunting ala what happened with another Mav great. Backfired on these two boners:

Luka's not hurt. He just knows our weakness...get the Clips feeling overconfident knowing that our lazy asses will play down to our competition.

Kidd says Luka will have to be managed for game 5. No details on what that means exactly, but I would expect him not to be getting the 45 min he's been getting

The Mavs foul A LOT, or at least what used to be considered a foul. Kind of smart I guess since they get away with it a lot of the time. Think that the new criteria helps them quite a bit. More than a lot of the teams in the playoffs.

Kyrie being aggressive earlier this time, he's gonna be a handful. Luka stays aggressive, still isn't making his 3s

Luka's offense keeping us in it, feels like we should be up more.

Typical George game at home. Over dribbling.. Plus how many have we missed close to the basket. Not good.
