Two of the top MVP candidates are going at it on TNT tomorrow. Lets get it correct The top two and only for discussion candidates....Better watch out Htown, we're only 2 games back in the loss column now with a head to head against you, be careful son.

Maybe by sitting out Lou vs the Bucks, Doc & co are vying for the 6th seed to match up vs Houston or Portland. That’s my guess.

Maybe by sitting out Lou vs the Bucks, Doc & co are vying for the 6th seed to match up vs Houston or Portland. That’s my guess. There is no way Doc Rivers can dictate who he is playing with still too many game left in the season. Portland is in 3rd seed right now and if they win against Detroit tonight it wouldnt be too much of a stretch for them lose only 1 more game the rest of the way even with Juric out for the season...if they do that and Houston wins out they would have identical records and Portland owns the tiebreaker via head to head. The only tough games they have left is against Denver in a home and home series. Denver's schedule is pretty tough and they could tumble from #2 as well with games remaining against Washington, @gs, San Antonio, Denver, @denver, @utah and minnesota. We would need them to lose 4 to even have a chance at potentially the 2nd seed.... Portland has @detroit,@minnesota, Memphis, @denver, Denver, Lakers, Sacramento.... And looking at your schedule I am not so sure you stay at the 6th seed anyway.... I think its still too early to be trying to set up for certain matchups......

I guess the rockets? With Chris Paul’s injury history, and the history of the teams, it’ll probably be our most interesting matchup.

Warriors are starting to look more and more like a shell of their former selves, but same with the Patriots before the whooped my Chargers. The Nurkic injury is a big blow. CP has an extensive injury history. Nuggets lack of experience could bite them in the ass. Spurs and Jazz are probably the 2 teams I don’t want to face.

We get the Rockets at home on Wednesday. That game should tell us if we have any chance against them in the playoff. If you can't win a home game when you are well rested and prepared and more motivated to win than the team that you will most likely meet in the playoffs then they are just better than you are.

And it will be the 2nd of a back to back for us again like the 1st time we played this season and we finally get to have a full healthy squad and no suspensions. You guys jumped on us early in the season but we are a much different team now. The same can be said for you guys as well but I am going to love this test on Wednesday as i hope we take care of business on Tuesday first. I really think we have a chance at the 2nd seed looking at Denver's schedule. It seems like Harrell always has a career game against us and at least we have someone now that can match his intensity with the addition of Faried. Should be an interesting matchup as we should get your best and I am pretty sure no one sits this one for load management. Great thing is that you guys have nothing to lose so it is still a win win situation for you.....Can't wait to see what Sweet Lou does in the playoffs.....will get see how much of a professional scorer he really is against teams that are good and can gameplan for him.....

Not necessarily, teams sometimes lose home games in a playoff series — not just a pre-playoff game — and still win the series. But your point is well taken, we ought to win this one

Other than the Clippers this season, only 3 other teams won 45+ games with no All-Star:
03-04 Memphis Grizzlies (lost 0-4 in the first round)
15-16 Charlotte Hornets (lost 3-4 in the first round)
13-14 Phoenix Suns (missed the playoffs)

That is kind of stupid in my opinion. Who do the Jazz have as an All-Star? Kyle Korver which was a fluke that he made an AS team in the much weaker Eastern Conference. And Lou should have made the AS team last year. So no I don't think us not having an All Star is a big deal. I am sure lots of playoff teams had all stars who were well past their prime and just taking up space on the bench. Now winning 50 without an All Star would be saying something. So let's get it done this week.

So let's get it done this week. Gobert was an All-Star last year and could have made it this year, if the voting went his way. Everyone on the TNT crew voted for either Gobert or Mitchell this year. I think mistwell also means that those teams didn't have someone who made the All-Star team that year. Korver on the Jazz wouldn't count anyways, since he wasn't an All-Star for the Jazz this year. You are also right though that mistwell should have had this year's Jazz on his list.
