Trade Harris just to sign Butler to a max deal? His trade value is lower because he isn't signed. This is a Gallo deal, not a Harris deal.

This is big news for us and great news.
I think Harris has to be the centerpiece, why would anybody want Gallo, especially when trading away a star player? We offered Harris for Kawhi, I don't see why we wouldn't offer him for Butler. Some sort of deal centered around Harris and maybe Jerome Robinson or a future 1st plus some of our other expiring vets seems reasonable.
I honestly don't care who we give them back as long as we hold onto SGA and Harrell.
Let's get this done and then try to pair Butler with Leonard in the off-season. A 2019 roster that includes Butler, Leonard, SGA, Lou Williams and Harrell sounds really good to me.

I like Harris over Harrell. Dump Gallo FOR SURE. The problem will be how much Harris is going to ask for in free agency next year. If he is only a stop gap filler for this year and we have no intention of trying to keep him then I say yes, include him. Otherwise, Minnesota is between a rock and a hard place as to exactly what they can demand right now if Butler wants out and will definitely not resign with them. Gallo straight up and/or with some picks would probably work ... not that it is all that attractive for them, but the salaries probably match up pretty equal. They are in big trouble if KAT is going to leave them as well.
We could also work on some sort of 3 team deal with Phoenix. They need a starting PG (Teodosic, Beverly). Right now we still have 2 extra guys on our roster that will have to be traded or cut anyway. Good filler for a trade. Too complex for me to figure one out right now, but I would try to dump Gallo and keep Harris in any event for sure (if he is on the radar for our long term plans of course).

I guess Butler is making it clear that he doesn't want to resign in Minnesota.

Hey trapp...I agree with most of what you’re saying here, however Butler is no Leonard and I’d try and avoid giving up Robinson and definitely no future no1s. Gallo would be a dream, otherwise something like Harris, Teo and Sin would be cool.

We cant trade a 1st till 2022, so if we include a 1st in this deal it will probably be one that we get from a third team, like the Suns for Beverley.

I don't think Phoenix is giving up Bridges for Beverley, without Bridges playing a game for them.

Jimmy is one of the best few SGs in the league and we should get him and we should pay him. Next summer, when he comes for free. Only trade for him now if it lets us get rid of contracts we don't want, or don't intend to keep, and keep draft picks that we do want. I'm not sure we have anything the MIN wants anyway. Not Gallo. Maybe Avery Bradley would be a good fit there. And a backup defensive wing like Luc or Wes.

Clippers get Butler
Suns get Beverley and Dieng
TWolves get Gallinari, TJ Warren, 2022 1st from Clippers
With this, the clippers replace gallinari's contract with Butlers. Giving them a good shot to resign butler and also keep enough cap room to still get close to 2 max free agents left.
Suns get their PG and a backup C to Ayton. Both could learn from Chandler.
Twolves get a 1st that wont be used for awhile. A starting PF in Gallinari and a starting SF in Warren. They could have a lineup of Teague, Wiggins, Warren, Gallo, Towns. which could help compete and have the bulls 2.0 off the bench.
